Rhapsody! International Music Festival Vienna, Salzburg and Prague
Producer: Classical Movements, Inc.
Location: Vienna, Salzburg and Prague
In 2011, the Prague Post hailed the Rhapsody International Music Festival Vienna, Salzburg and Prague as “The summer of young musical brilliance.” Festival choirs perform individually in three of Europe’s most historical and musical cities as well as in a combined grand finale conducted by select attending choir directors. Past venues have included the landmark St. Stephan’s Cathedral and the Haydn Church in Vienna, St. Andrä Church in Salzburg, and Smetana Hall, Dvorak Hall, and the St. Simon and Jude Church in Prague. Participants will enjoy workshops with Viennese and Czech choral experts, cultural exchanges, and musical and sightseeing tours in the birthplace of classical music. New in 2014, Rhapsody! will offer an optional choral competition. Competing choirs will sing before a panel of international judges with the opportunity to earn monetary and trophy awards. The best-rated choir at the festival will win a newly-commissioned work in honor of both the choir and the festival. Come share in this “richly rewarding experience” (Prague Post).
