Participate in what South Africa’s leading newspaper, the Cape Times, calls “The Largest International Choral Gathering in South Africa” and “Singing That Nourishes Body and Soul.” The Ihlombe! South African Choral Festival offers a one-of-a-kind choral experience in dynamic settings such as Cape Town, Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Soweto as well as at a scenic wildlife safari park. Perform with several excellent South African choirs and participate in workshops with dynamic South African choral conductors.  Ihlombe! annually features a diverse representation of international touring choirs from all over the world in extraordinary venues with enthusiastic audiences.  Experience African rhythms, dancing, and wonderful, unique singing.  Open to all choirs, each conducted by their own music director.
New in 2014, Ihlombe! will offer an optional choral competition.  Competing choirs will sing before a panel of international judges with the opportunity to earn monetary and trophy awards.  The best-rated choir at the festival will win a newly-commissioned work in honor of both the choir and the festival.  Come away with a love for this extraordinary country and its high standards of choral singing. Ihlombe! is a high value, low priced tour with South Africa’s most famous iconic sights such as the Cradle of Humankind, Table Mountain, and Cape Point, as well as various outreach opportunities and what The Citizen newspaper calls “More Than Just Music.”
2015: July 16-26
