Conducting Fellow Application Deadline - October 20, 2011 Choral-Orchestral Conducting Masterclass January 13-16, 2012 | New York City Featuring The Mannes Orchestra and The Philadelphia Singers The deadline is approaching for early-career conductors to have a unique opportunity to study with renowned conductors at Chorus America's Choral-Orchestral Conducting Masterclass at Mannes College in New York City, January 13-16. (http://www.chorusamerica.org/cmc2012_Mannes/) Conducting Fellows will walk away from this three-day workshop with practical conducting experience in dealing with such issues as: purely orchestral sections (overtures, interludes); accompanied recitative; aria accompaniment; and choral/orchestral sequences. All application materials for Conducting Fellows must be received in the Chorus America office by October 20. Podium Coaches Podium Coaches work one-on-one with each Conducting Fellow during intensive 20-minute conducting sessions in front of a string quintet, a full orchestra with chorus and soloists, and a small audience. David Hayes: The Philadelphia Singers and Mannes College of Music Jacques Lacombe: New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Private Coaches Coaches work one-on-one with Conducting Fellows in private sessions to review the Fellow's conducting performance at the podium session. Conducting Associates will also receive a one-hour session with a Private Coach to work on topics or techniques of their choosing.
