MP3 files may be included in ChoralNet content for purposes of demonstration. You might include a sample of your choir singing in order to ask for help identifying a vocal problem, or a fragment of a piece to help identify it. You might have samples of compositions you've written on your user page, or examples of your choir singing on a choir page. You may not upload entire songs.
Uploaded MP3s are limited to 60 seconds. If you upload a longer sample, it will be automatically cropped to that length, but we recommend shortening the example yourself, partly so you have more control over how it gets cropped, but also because long examples may take a very long time to upload.
To upload an MP3 while editing a page, click on the music icon in the toolbar. Select the file you want to upload, and click Send it to the server. (This may take a while.) Once the site tells you it's done, click OK to continue editing your page.
Uploaded MP3s should be intended for illustrative purposes and so fall under the Fair Use exception to copyright laws; this is one reason for the length restriction. If you have any concerns or questions about uploading copyrighted material, please contact us.
