St. Mary’s Cathedral Choir in San Francisco is expanding and has vacancies in the soprano, alto, and tenor sections. Thursday evening rehearsals: 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm (September through mid-June)
Sunday morning Mass: 10:20 am rehearsal, 11:00 am Mass, until 12:20 pm
possibility of additional singing at 9 am Gregorian Chant and 1:00 pm Spanish Mass

The successful candidate must be a good sight reader and be present at all Holy Week services (Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, Easter Sunday) and Christmas (Midnight Mass, Christmas morning) and the two prior rehearsals.

Remuneration: $31.90 per hour, 1 extra hour paid for Thursday rehearsals for personal prep. Indexed for cost of living July 1.

Singers (SATB) needed for 12/12 Lessons and Carols, and 12/24 Christmas Eve Service-El Segundo, CA

Hello!

I am looking for SATB singers for the Lessons and Carols service on 12/12, and as well for Christmas Eve Service 12/24.

The program will consist of easy anthems, and will have instrumentalist accompanying as well. Rehearsal would be before each service.

Call time for 12/12 would be: 8:30am PST/Service at 10:00am PST.
Call time for 12/24 would be: 7:00pm PST/Service at 9:00pm PST.

Both events will be paid gigs (including travel stipend), if you can do both-great, or one of the other, please let me know.

Contracted Musician – Tenor

Seeking a Tenor for The Congregational Church of Needham for the fall of 2021. Two Thursday evenings a month from 7:30 – 9:00pm and all Sundays from 8:30 – 11:15 as well as Maundy Thursday, Easter and Christmas Eve. Contract goes from Sept – June. Alto Section Leader

Alto section leader position at St. John the Evangelist (Episcopal) in Hingham, MA. Candidates should have excellent sight-reading skills, a blending voice, and a cheerful attitude. Familiarity with standard Anglican repertoire is a plus. Thursday rehearsals at 7:30 pm; Sunday warm-up at 9:00, followed by service at 10:00. 16-member Adult Choir includes volunteers and a professional quartet. Season runs from September through early June.
Pay is $75 per call; $100 for special services (Christmas Eve, Holy Week/Easter, occasional Evensongs).
Covid vaccination is required.

St. Patrick Cathedral, Fort Worth Texas section leaders needed

St. Patrick Cathedral, located in downtown Fort Worth Texas, is the seat of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth. We are currently seeking SATB section leaders. The Cathedral Choir sings on Sundays at 11:00am mass which is celebrated by the bishop.There are additional liturgies at Christmas, during the Easter Triduum (Holy Week), and other times as announced. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm-8:45pm from September until May/June. Sunday morning call time is 10am.

Pay rate is $50 per call (2x/week). Requirements include good sight singing skills, excellent intonation, good leadership, preparedness, professionalism, and willingness to coach/advise volunteer section members. Pay is monthly.

Tenor and Bass Section Leader and Soloist – La Cañada Flintridge, CA

La Cañada Congregational Church is seeking applications for the position of Tenor Section Leader and Soloist and Bass Section Leader and Soloist. Responsibilities include singing with the LCCC Quartet and the Chancel Choir (when reconvened) at the Sunday worship service (10:00am to 11:00am) from the second Sunday in August to the first Sunday in June, singing a solo in the Sunday worship service once a month, and rehearsing with the LCCC Quartet virtually once a week and before the Sunday service (9:00am). Soloists will record weekly hymns, one solo a month, and occasional anthems for virtual services. When the Chancel Choir reconvenes, rehearsals will be held on Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, on Sunday one hour before the worship service (9:00am), and in preparation for special choir concerts. Additional duties include singing in the Christmas Concert and Spring Concert (Sundays at 4:00pm) and singing with the Chancel Choir at special services, including but not limited to Christmas Eve and Good Friday. Soloists may also participate in summer Sunday worship services.

The ideal candidate for this position will be vocally trained for solo and choral music, able to connect with other choir members, church staff, and the congregation, skilled at sight-reading and assisting and mentoring amateur singers, capable of worshiping through music and inviting others to do the same, punctual and prepared for all rehearsals, services, and concerts, and willing and able to follow health safety protocols established by the church. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of three years of vocal training, a degree in music, and at least one year of experience as a section leader or serving in a concert or religious choir.
