Hi, my piece ‘Psaume 42’ for mixed SATB choir, piano and flute has been revised and transposed in F sharp major. As it has never been performed before, I’m looking for a choir who would be interested to give it in concert.
You can listen to it here :
The music is written in a classical style and lasts about 6’45”.
The lyrics are in french language and are directly inspired by the Psalm 42.
Lyrics :
English literal translation by Maria Miller :
O God, my God ! I thirst for you,
In this parched earth, in this arid land…
O God, my God, I come to You,
As a thirsty doe toward currents of water.
I come to You, my Father, hear my prayer.
When will I go and appear before your face O God ?
O God, my God ! You are my God and the salvation of my soul.
My soul, why are you cast down, why do you cry out within me ?
He is my salvation and my God.
My soul, wait for your God, from Him comes your salvation.
Still I will praise Him,
I will celebrate my salvation and my God !
