April 16, 2022 by Fiona Sutherland 1 Comment

Come Sing with Us!

Founded in 1957, The Shrewsbury Chorale is a mixed chorus serving Monmouth County. Currently directed by Fiona Smith Sutherland, The Shrewsbury Chorale performs a varied and exciting repertoire of sacred and secular choral repertoire in an annual series of concerts.

Upcoming Events:

Open Rehearsals: Tuesday, April 26 & May 3, 2022, from 7:30-9:30 PM, held at Tower Hill Church, 255 Harding Road, Red Bank, NJ. (The St. Andrew’s Room, via the lower parking lot)

  • please come at 7:15 pm to meet and quickly sing for our Musical Director

Next Concert:  The Shrewsbury Chorale Pops Concert!    —Sunday, June 12, 4 pm at St. Dorothea’s Church in Eatontown, NJ

Repertoire

The Shrewsbury Chorale Pops Concert will feature some familiar choral favorites including Gerald Finzi’s “My Spirit Sang All Day,” and Fauré’s “Cantique de Jean Racine,” along with lesser known works by David Childs and Jeffrey Douma.  The SA voices will sing a beautiful Sarah Quartel piece, while the tenors and basses will learn a hearty “college” song.   The whole group joins in an SATB jazz arrangement of the standard “Blue Skies,” and much more!   There are only seven rehearsals for this concert, so this is a great way to come and try out the Shrewsbury Chorale!
