In order to weather the pandemic, the Saint Louis Chamber Chorus – one of America’s oldest independent choirs – created a series of presentations for its members & supporters, reminding them of its achievements and aspirations. These shows are now freely available on its YouTube channel , and feature archival recordings complemented by photographic montages. The second show addressed the choir’s advocacy for women composers, and featured music by Clara Schumann, Rebecca Clarke, and Emma Lou Diemer. These were contrasted with works created specifically for the Chamber Chorus by Judith Bingham and Melissa Dunphy, among others. The show included a zoom interview with Dobrinka Tabakova, who is writing a new mass for the choir.
