Requiem for the Queen who sponsored the discovery of America Now available in pdf downloadable from your computer

Fidelio Musica edicion has recently published the world’s first edition of Mass Pro defunctis by the Portuguese composer Pedro de Escobar also known as Pedro do Porto.  Escobar’s requiem is the first iberian Requiem and one of the first in Europe to follow the example of Johannes Ockeghem’s Requiem. According to the musicologists Tess Knighton this Requiem migh have been sung in the year 1504 at the funeral of Queen Isabella of Castilla, the most famous Spanish Queen who sponsored the voyage of Columbus that led to the discovery of America.

“I Will Lift Mine Eyes,” by award-winning young composer Jake Runestad, has just been published by Boosey & Hawkes as a part of their Choral Music Experience Conductor’s Choice series.  This a cappella setting of Psalm 121 captures the beauty and serenity of nature and the promise of guidance and support from a higher power.

A Gloria Overture

“A Gloria Overture”  is a recent work created for the Christmas repertoire in mind. The idea was to create a work that can be used as an introduction for the Christmas concert and to be performed as a processional.
