AUDITIONS - Volunteers
Downtown Chorus is looking for many new voices to join a friendly — and varied — core group of singers. Singers of all experience levels and of all vocal ranges are welcome. The ability to read music is a plus but not a requirement as is prior chorale experience. Interested persons should contact Dr. Yau at (212) 220-8000 ext. 7240 or e-mail for an appointment; or visit www.downtownchorus.org
This spring and summer we will focus on Parts 2-3 Handel’s Messiah (the ‘Easter’ Sections), Verdi’s 4 Sacred Songs, and will begin preparing Mozart’s Requiem for the 15th anniversary of 9-11.

The San Gabriel Valley Choral Company (SGVCC) will hold auditions for new singers on all voice parts for Spring 2016 from 6:30pm-9pm on:
Tuesday, January 19, 2016
Auditions are held by appointment, and adults with classical choral experience and basic sight-reading skills are encouraged to audition. Singers must sing a 2-3 minute a cappella solo and be prepared for a brief (and friendly) musicianship assessment. Auditions last for about 10 minutes and will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (122 S. California Ave., Monrovia 91016). Details about membership fees, concert attire, performances and outreach activities will be available at the time of the audition. All singers who audition are considered for solo and small ensemble opportunities, as well.
Founded in 1995, the San Gabriel Valley Choral Company (SGVCC) is a non-profit choir based in Monrovia, CA. SGVCC performs three to four concerts per year, singing a broad repertoire that includes classical, spirituals, pop, jazz, opera, folk music, and musical theater. Comprised of singers from throughout the Southland, the choir provides an opportunity for its members to challenge themselves and to share their love of music with San Gabriel Valley residents.
SGVCC performs 4-5 concerts per year and rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7:15-9:30pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Monrovia. For more information or to schedule an audition, please contact Zanaida Robles at .
