Paid Alto & Tenor Section Leader in the Dallas Fort Worth Area “Arlington, TX”
Paid Choir Section Leaders – Alto and Tenor: The successful candidate should demonstrate proficiency in reading music, both in various clefs as well as the full score. Candidates should have knowledge of styles of various eras in choral music, such as chant, polyphony and large SATB choral works of all eras, including spirituals.
The choir has routinely scheduled Wednesday evening rehearsals two times a month for two and a half hours throughout the year with the EXCEPTION of preparing for Christmas and Easter which usually runs twice a week leading up to two weeks. Rehearsals begin in August to May and we sing on Sundays year-round.
Additional programming as choristers includes Christmas Concert and Christmas at Midnight Mass Holy Week Liturgies: Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil Solemnities of the Church Fine Arts Series – Spiritual Concert in February 2020 and Seven Lasts Words of Christ on Good Friday 2020. There are plenty of opportunities for solos and leads.
Song Leader duties include: Approximately once masses per month of song leader leadership both with and without a choir. Weddings as assigned and accepted by the song leader Holy days as assigned and accepted by the song leader Compensation: Negotiable, however funerals and weddings are a fixed-rate stipend.

Baritone Cantor Position Available!
Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dallas is conveniently located west of University Park just northeast of the Dallas North Tollway and Lovers Lane. We are seeking a baritone to be a part of our choral community! Additionally, we are also seeking all voice types to fill in and/or add to our ranks when needed with an eye toward filling a permanent position if/when one becomes available. We rehearse Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. for our 11 a.m. Sunday service. Additional services might include a December Lessons and Carols service, a 5 p.m. Christmas Eve service, a Lenten service and a Holy Week service. Music reading skills are a plus!
