I am putting together a 4th grade choral concert, and I am programming a storm- themed concert. I am building this concert around James DesJardins’ “Storm”, and am in search of more pieces centered around the idea of storms.
I am aiming for a culturally diverse concert, so I am trying to find pieces from all over the world. I have “Storm” and “Rain Dance” (by Sonja and Berta Poorman, has a Native American style to it) so far. I would LOVE to include something with a South American or African feel… something fun, percussive, and that moves. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. It can be any rain/ storm/ snow based piece, whether it’s from Asia, Africa, Europe, the UK, South America, anywhere really. If there are simple percussion parts, that would be cool as well.
Thank you in advance,
