Choral Auditions for Choirs of Church of the Atonement (All Voice Parts)
The Episcopal Church of the Atonement (www.atonementchicago.org) is an Anglo-Catholic parish with a strong musical tradition, including weekly choral mass and bi-monthly evensong. Repertoire is varied and previous seasons can be viewed in full here: https://www.atonementchicago.org/music-schedule
We seek to audition singers for all voice parts (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) into our choral program – including the 12-voice professional Schola, sublist, and volunteer St. Cecilia Choir for the 2019-2020 season.
The season begins October 1 and ends on Corpus Christi (June 14, 2020).
Christmas Eve midnight mass and Holy Week/Easter are required for full paid positions. Volunteer positions and sublist singers have more flexibility. Excellent skill in sight reading and the desire to sing in a chamber ensemble are of utmost importance. Extensive choral experience is necessary.
Professional singers rehearse Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. for the 11:00 a.m. solemn mass. There are no weeknight rehearsals. Additional rehearsals may be scheduled throughout the year, but prior notice will be given. Additional calls for weddings, funerals, and evensong services are available throughout the year. All professional singers are paid $85 per call, with a scheduled raise in January 2020.
Volunteer singers must have Wednesday evenings free. Occasional calls for Sundays and feasts may present themselves, but will be scheduled with appropriate notification.

The church is located in the Edgewater neighborhood on the North side of Chicago and is easily accessible by train, bus, and car. Please contact the Director of Music, Charlie Sega, with questions or to arrange an audition:
