In response to the COVID-19 crisis and its resulting effects on the choral art, the ACDA Executive Committee has appointed a COVID-19 Response Committee to create a document that will endeavor to provide a strong statement of support for all choral musicians.
The aftermath of this crisis has and continues to affect singers of all ages in choral programs within our schools, universities, communities, and places of worship throughout the United States. This document will seek to provide a strong, unequivocal statement of advocacy for choral music in our culture. Additionally, the document will offer considerations and current parameters for ensembles, scenario planning with instructional and community-building models to guide our thinking, as well as resources to guide us in the direction of additional information in the near future and beyond.
This document will be completed and available to the membership on June 15 as a source of support, encouragement, and resources. The report will be distributed widely throughout ACDA’s national, regional, and state communications avenues, including the website, email, and social media.
