Church Choir Seeking SABT Singers in New Tampa/Wesley Chapel, FL Area for 2022-2023 Season

August 1, 2022 by sandrasil Leave a Comment

St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 9724 Cross Creek Blvd., Tampa, Fl, 33647, is seeking both volunteer and professional SATB singers from the New Tampa/Wesley Chapel area for its Grand Parish Choir. The Choir is open to all fully COVID-19 vaccinated adults and you do not need to be Catholic or a member of the parish to join. We are in particular need of basses and altos.

The Choir sings Sundays at 10:30 am Mass and monthly at the 4:00 pm Saturday Vigil Mass.
Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. First Rehearsal is September 7, 2022. at 7:00 pm

Professional Section Leaders are paid per event. Pay rate will be determined after auditioning. Must possess a pleasant vocal tone, be able to read music, attend regular rehearsals, sing at regularly scheduled Sunday Masses and the monthly Vigil Mass and have no other Sunday commitments. No heavy vibrato please. We occasionally sing with Florida Orchestra members and the University Brass.

Auditions are by appointment. We request that volunteer singers audition (e.g. sing a few bars of “Happy Birthday”) for placement only. Professional singers are requested to submit a resume and mp3 voice sample prior to auditioning.

A sample Mass performance is on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHqm0Mu342U.

Contact Dr. John Paul Cappa, Music Director, at or 813-907-7746 Ext. 326.
