For those of you who haven’t seen the group perform, SGVCC is a wonderful collection of singers who love making music together, and do it (if I do say so myself) at a very high level. This program consists entirely of music by living composers, which might sound a little risky, but it’s actually going to be both artistically captivating (with a wide variety of styles) and super-accessible.
We’ve got music by the beloved British composer John Rutter; three settings of Langston Hughes by the American musical theater/artsong composer Ricky Ian Gordon; works by three members of the group, including a world- and a West Coast-premiere, a rhythmically rhapsodic invocation of a Tibetan Buddhist prayer for our tenors and basses (it’s going to bring the house down!), several glorious a cappella gems, and, of course, some Simon & Garfunkel, just for kicks.
I’d love to see you there, and can promise you a memorable night of music. Here’s the info:

Hello Living Voice,
Up here in Sonoma County, my California Redwood Chorale concerts in April will be living American composers! Both choirs are on the same track!
