As a response to the shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on February 14, 2018, lyricist and Reverend Ronald Cadmus and I thought it important to address this tragedy with a choral anthem that speaks of the importance and need for change in the world if we are to survive both as a country and species. The work we created “We Are One” focuses on a number of current issues without being overly political, but most importantly, addresses the need for the survivors of this tragedy and the next generation in particular to work together to effect positive change. The work is available in all voicings and a reference recording by the inimitable Matthew Curtis is available. If you would like a sample PDF for your review, please contact me at email@example.com. More than ever, Ron and I feel that it is important that members of the choral community, whether creators or performers, take a stand.
