Stephen Black conducts a concert of vocal music to raise money and awareness for the Berry Center in New Castle, KY. The concert will take place on the annual United Nations #WorldEnvironmentDay, Wednesday, June 5 at 7 PM, at Metro Baptist Church, 410 W 40th St, NYC. The Berry Center seeks to initiate and promote endeavors in sustainable agriculture, support for family farms, and environmental activism. The one hour program will be followed by a reception. The selection of music is drawn entirely from works that set the work of acclaimed writer, farmer and National Humanities Medal recipient Wendell Berry. The concert includes music by Andrew Maxfield, Joan Szymko, Steve Heitzeg, Shawn Jaeger, and a world premiere by Sarah Rimkus. Tickets for the fundraiser are $25 at the door.
