Constellation Men’s Ensemble launches NOVA Editions

August 9, 2021 by Ryan Strand Leave a Comment

As part of their mission to expand the repertoire for tenor and bass voices, Chicago-based vocal ensemble Constellation (CME) has launched NOVA Editions on their website. NOVA Editions is a growing database of exceptional works that CME has premiered since their founding in 2013. In making these downloadable PDFs available for purchase via their website, Constellation aims to allow these works to be performed by many other fine ensembles, from high school choirs to other professional groups. Each score contains performance and conductor notes from long-time artistic friend of CME, Dr. Christopher R. Windle.

In addition to expanding the repertoire, NOVA Editions is yet another source of exposure and income for the featured composers working with CME, receiving the majority of the income directly from purchases, with a small amount only being used to pay for hosting scores. “We aren’t looking to make a profit with this exciting new venture, we just wanted some of the amazing music we’ve had the privilege to premiere be made available to anyone in an accessible way,” said CME executive director Ryan Townsend Strand.

All scores as part of NOVA Editions are only available as PDF downloads and sold in packs of 10 starting at $3.00 per octavo. Constellation holds an annual call for composers for their NOVA new music series. Subscribe to CME to stay up to date on announcements via their website. www.constellationensemble.org
