Ars Musica Chorale embarks on its 55th season on September 3, 2019, at The Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, 7:30 pm. This first rehearsal will be an Open Sing, open to all singers interested in finding out more about singing with Ars Musica Chorale. For those interested in joining Ars Musica Chorale, auditions will be held during the month of September, and again, later in the season.
Established in 1965, Ars Musica Chorale is one of the oldest and finest choral groups in Bergen County, well-known for presenting outstanding and unique programs. Ars Musica Chorale performs four major concerts annually in Bergen County.
Works to be performed during this season include Purcell’s DIDO AND AENEAS, accompanied by a Baroque instrumental ensemble using historical instruments, and a traditional holiday concert with readings, brass, organ, percussion and the angelic voices of the New Jersey State Children’s Chorus. The new year will bring Hariu l’Adonai, music from the Jewish tradition with works from composers including Mendelssohn, Aaron Copland, Salamone Rossi, and Max Janowski. Our masterworks concert will feature works by Beethoven and , Berlioz’s spectacular showpiece, the MESSE SOLENNELLE, accompanied by the award-winning Adelphi Orchestra.
