The Choral Project’s EARTHSONGS: NEW DAYS
Saturday, June 22, 8:00pm-10:00pm, Santa Cruz
MORE INFO: http://www.choralproject.org
The Choral Project, the award-winning, Silicon Valley-based choir announces its last concert of the 2018-19 season, EARTHSONGS : NEW DAYS.
The concert will call attention to the important work being done by The Bay Area Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition, an organization that works to eradicate human trafficking. EARTHSONGS : NEW DAYS will also include the winning composition from our annual Rachel Moore Choral Competition for Young Composers.
Repertoire features music from around the globe, ranging from modern classics such as Joshua Shank’s amazing “rules to live by” (written for The Choral Project in celebration of its 20th anniversary), Sarah Hopkins “Past Life Melodies” (an other-worldly song that features overtone singing), to contemporary pop tunes, such as the a cappella setting of Three Dog Night’s “Shambala.” Audience favorites – Frank Tichelli’s “There Will Be Rest,” John David’s “You Are the New Day,” and Daniel Hughes’ “Babethandaza” (complete with full-chorus choreography) – will round out this meaningful concert.
