Jed Scott is a composer, arranger, and conductor living in Rockford, Michigan.
As a composer/arranger, Jed has written for top choral ensembles nationwide. He specializes in pop/jazz arrangements but his writing covers the gamut. Recent commissions include The University of Michigan Men's Glee Club (Eugene Rogers), Oakland University (Mike Mitchell), Gold Company (Steve Zegree), as well as numerous high schools and community choirs. He is published with UNC Jazz Press and Sound Music Publications.
As a conductor, his elite 12-voice high school men's ensemble at Rockford High School, The Rockford Aces, have received top honors in Michigan performances including twice being selected to perform at Michigan Youth Arts Festival as one of the top-12 choral ensembles in Michigan. They have released two CDs and recently had a wildly successful European performance tour, culminating in GOLD- and SILVER-medal performances at the World Choir Games. They are currently ranked among the top-50 male ensembles worldwide by Interkultur. They recently commissioned and premiered a new arrangement of "Cindy" from Alice Parker.
Jed serves on the full boards of both ACDA-Michigan (Jazz/Show R&S) and MSVMA (Summer Workshop/Vocal Jazz Honors Choir Coordinator). He has three sons with his wife, Mandy Mikita Scott.
