Andrew Cusworth is a British composer and conductor currently working in Wales. He has a particular interest in choral music, having completed completed an MMus in Choral Studies at the University of Cambridge (2011) where, as an undergraduate, he was organ scholar at Magdalene College from 2003-6.
Andrew has written music for choirs of all levels ranging from small children to experienced and professional singers. In September 2010, his piece Factum est silentium was elected as winner of the inaugural New Music for St Paul's Cathedral composition competition, generously supported by the Boltini trust, and was given its first performance in St Paul's Cathedral, London. Give ear, O ye heavens, his first new piece of 2011, was shortlisted for the King James Bible Trust Composition Awards and premiered at the competition final in Temple Church, Fleet Street, London, in a performance that was later broadcast on BBC Radio 3's The Choir. His Christmas carol of 2010, There is no rose, was commissioned by Rhinegold Singers (the in-house choir of Rhinegold Publishing) and is now published in the Novello New Choral Series, and appears in the collection Noel! 3.
