Most people are lucky to have one job they can tolerate. Dr. Scott W. Dorsey has two careers that he adores: Aviation and Choral Music.
As a choral conductor, Scott has performed extensively in the U.S. and overseas, with choirs under his baton earning critical acclaim. As a collegiate music professor, he has served on numerous music faculties, including those at Montana State University-Billings, Mount Union College, the University of Northern Iowa, Vennard College, and William Penn College. An accomplished writer, he has published several hundred articles in various choral publications and produced a variety of one-of-a-kind resources. He currently serves the choral art as the Director of Education & Communication for the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) in Oklahoma City.
Beyond his daily work at ACDA and his various choral appearances, Scott is also a professional aviator. A commercial multi-engine pilot and flight instructor, he is currently flying for Twin Lakes Aviation at Sundance Airport (HSD) in Oklahoma City. Melding scholarship with his fondness for things with wings, Scott has published aviation articles in Private Pilot and Plane & Pilot magazines.
Scott holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Iowa, the Master of Arts degree in Choral Conducting from California State University-Stanislaus, and the Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
