Director of Membership Development at ACDA. My role here is growing our membership, and focusing on how we continue to evolve ACDA and membership benefits so that our members are excited about their involvement.
My professional career has been in nonprofits, working in a range of roles from membership to resource development to executive. I'm currently dipping my toe in the ocean of choral directing - as an observer and learner. My daughter attended an arts integration public elementary school, and is now a dance major at the magnet arts middle-high school. I feel lucky that she's been able to learn via the arts, and sample things like violin, visual arts, drama, and choir - as well as core academics. She also sings in a community youth chorus: Canterbury Apprentice Choir. My mother has sung in choirs her entire life, and in her late '70s still sings in our church choir and Canterbury Community Chorus. I play the flute, and have a University of Michigan MA in musicology from too many years ago. So I'm a listener and participant on occasions, and fascinated to read about some of the "mechanics" of directing!
