The New York Choral Consortium Presents The Big Sing!

NYCC's fourth annualBig Sing (massive sing in) will take place on Monday June 9 at 7:30 PM at St.Paul the Aostle Church, at 405West 59th St. Both singers and the general public are invited to join in a performance of all-time favorite choral works. The evening's program, hosted by conductors/NYCC Board Co-Chairs, Kent Tritle and Deborah Simpkin King, will feature Faure's Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine, as well as the Kyrie and Gloria of Rossini's Petite Messe Solonnelle. The works will be conducted by Jason Asbury, James John, Mattew Lewis, Mark Mangini, Ronnie Oliver, Harold Rosenbaum, Chris Shepard, and David Shuler, and will be accompanied by Michael Sheetz at the piano, and James Wetzel at the organ. Soloists will be Soprano Lianne Coble and Gregory Purnhagen.

The event is free/no tickets required, with donations accepted at the door, and personal scores may be brought or can be downloaded at www.newyorkchoralconsortium.org. the public is invited to sing or just listen in. Seating is on a space available basis, so it is suggested to arrive early to ensure seating (doors open at 6:30). For additional information, go to www.newyorkchoralconsortium.org.

The New York Choral Consortium is a membership organization composed of NYC choruses representing a diverse community of singers and choral organizations. The NYCC fosters a spirit of mutual support and collaboration amongst its members and strives to contribute to the cultural appreciation of choral music throughout New York City. Member organizations have access to strategy seminars, networking events and social events that promote healthier choruses and more vibrant choral community. The NYCC also supports a cooperative approach to programming diversity in the city by publishing an internal programming calendar for future seasons. The NYCC publishes a choral calendar and distributes information on upcoming concertsofmember organizations through an opt-in email list.
