The UNT MS/JH Honor Choir Camp is an excellent opportunity for your middle school singers to continue singing through the summer. The University of North Texas has a Middle School/Junior High Honor Choir Camp (for incoming 7th-9th grades) held at UNT the week of July 16-19. There is a boarding option and a commuting option to fit your student’s needs.
This 4-day camp includes fun evening activities such as game night, a camp dance, talent show, and ends with a concert in the Winspear Hall of the Murchison Performing Arts Center. Your students will be taught by excellent clinicians such as Dr. Alan McClung (UNT) and Dr. Rebecca Reames (Crane School of Music). The camp staff/counselors are comprised of current UNT Music Education undergraduate students. Your students will enjoy getting to know their counselors and seeing what a college campus is like. This camp also provides your students the experience of learning how to play hand bells and chimes, and to accompany a choir with these instruments.
Please visit www.music.unt.edu/choircamp/midlevel for more information regarding scholarships, schedules, and activities. Registration is also available online.
