SARTEANO CHAMBER CHORAL CONDUCTING WORKSHOP
a Collaborative Experience...
with Simon Carrington, Bronislawa Falinska and Brian O'Connell
26 July - 2 August 2014, Sarteano (Tuscany), Italy
We are accepting applications for summer! Please visit our new Testimonials Page and see what past participants have to say…

We are an exciting and collaborative conducting workshop geared for choral conductors and music educators with strong vocal ability who are interested in rehearsing and performing chamber choral music. Come join 28 conductor/singers from all over the world and be inspired and refreshed. We also heartily welcome qualified singers who are interested in attending the workshop in a non-conducting capacity; who love to sing in a chamber group environment and/or are very specifically looking to learn rehearsal and conducting techniques.

There are three possible tiers of participation: Full Conductor, Conducting Auditor, and Singer. Up to two graduate credits are available through The Boston Conservatory.

Full Conductors - Daily podium time to conduct your assigned piece in Simon Carrington’s daily 4.5 hour Master Class.

Conducting Auditors - You’ll have a private filmed lesson with Simon and conduct in the morning session.
Over the course of the week, two Conducting Auditor's are also chosen to rehearse the ensemble and conduct a piece in the final concert from the CA's morning repertoire.

EVERYONE sings - the master class uses the entire workshop ensemble as its laboratory, so everyone receives the benefits of each day's master class with Simon.

The afternoon session will consist solely of daily conducting Master Classes with Simon. This year we are again delighted to offer a Q&A/Dialogue session with Simon.
The two-part morning session will consist of group Vocal Pedagogy with Bronislawa Falinska utilizing the Rohmert Method of Functional Voicetraining, a method not commonly found in the States; and clinics on developing a vital chamber choir, with Brian O'Connell.

This will be the 10th consecutive year of Simon, Broni and I working together in Sarteano-come celebrate with us! For a detailed description of the workshop, testimonials from our alumni, and an online application form, please visit our website.
