Date: February 27, 2014
During the 2014 Southern Division Conference, ACDA will present . . .
Elon University studies vocal jass (sic) and performs literature from a wide variety of styles: vocal jazz, pop, rock, gospel, Broadway, world cultures, and unaccompanied. Emphasis is on vocal technique, striving for artistry, style, performance practice, microphone technique, studio technique, and concepts regarding entertainment versus artistry. In conjunction with Elon’s Music Production and Recording Arts degree program, students in the ensemble gain knowledge and experience in studio technique and live sound reinforcement issues. Membership is by audition only and is on an annual basis. In addition to élan, Elon Choral Activities offers two other choral ensembles: the Elon Camerata, auditioned chamber singers presenting artistic works from all stylistic periods and genres, and the Elon Chorale, a non-auditioned, large chorus that presents a diverse body of repertoire of different cultures. The choirs combine annually with the orchestra for a presentation of a master work of the choral/orchestral repertoire.
The ACDA Southern Division Conference will take place March 5-8, 2014, in Jacksonville, Florida. You can register NOW.
