A summer choral festival in beautiful San Diego, CA, where participants can improve individual vocal technique, choral repertoire knowledge, and choral performance practices—all through rehearsing and performing in two of the city’s most rewarding acoustics!
Day and evening activities including rehearsals, faculty recitals, informal small group singing, tours of St. Paul’s Cathedral, and topical sessions given by faculty.
Rehearsals will include sectional and tutti formats led by faculty, with performances in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church (Pacific Beach) and St. Paul’s Cathedral (Bankers Hill).
Open to students (rising 9th graders through college), church musicians, amateurs, teachers, semi-professionals, and professionals of all levels of vocal ability and experience. Individual singers as well as full choirs are welcome.

This festival takes place in stunning San Diego, California. We will be performing in two incredible choral spaces in the city: St. Paul’s Cathedral and St. Andrew’s by the Sea Pacific Beach. During the days of the festival, attendees will be in these venues, however, extended meal breaks allow for exploration. Come a couple days early or stay late, and enjoy all that San Diego has to offer: Balboa Park, the beaches, Mission Bay, downtown Gaslamp District, San Diego Harbor, SeaWorld, and the San Diego Zoo.

Repertoire for the 2014 festival could include pieces by William Byrd, Hans Leo Hassler, C.P.E. Bach, Alexander Gretchaninov, Giacomo Puccini, Edward Elgar, and Irving Berlin.
A Schola will be formed for select advanced pieces. This small group will be auditioned based on sight-reading ability, vocal training, and experience, and selected on Day One of the festival.
