National Capitol Choir Festival in Washington, DC - May 23-25, 2014 (Memorail Day Weekend)
We currently have space for one additional choral ensemble that will also be featured in a 15 minute solo slot on the final concert on Sunday, May 25, 2014 (by audio audition), at the National City Christian Church.
The NCC Festival is appropriate for High School, College, Community, and Church Choirs. This festival is about making terrific music together in a wonderful performance venue with other ensembles and an outstanding guest conductor. I would like to invite you to join us in rehearsals and a final performance in the beautiful National City Christian Church, where President Lyndon Johnson attended. This historic church will provide the backdrop for a wonderful and memorable music making experience.
Our program will reflect heavily on our history as Americans and feature great spirituals and folksongs native to our country.
Washington DC provides a superlative backdrop of history, culture, and sightseeing. Experience history at great monuments and museums at some of my favorites such as the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Smithsonian Museum which includes the famous Air and Space Museum, the National Archives which houses our country’s founding documents including the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, the Capitol Building, and the White House. Walk the National Mall and see the War Memorials. Take a solemn and historic tour of Arlington National Cemetery. Easy access of the DC Metro makes getting around Washington a snap.
Participation in the festival include leaning music for the festival chorus, a performance at 2 of our Nation's Memorials.
So come join us as we make beautiful music in National Capitol Choir Festival. Inspiring and captivating experiences await you!
