The Star Spangled Salute! on June 14, 2014, will be the grand finale of a week-long celebration of choral music presented by the Kennedy Center in cooperation with Chorus America. Thousands of voices from across the country will come together in our nation’s capital to present the Voices of Our Nation: Celebrating the Choral Tradition on Flag Day and the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner. The event is scheduled to take place on the steps of the U.S. Capitol and the official Guest Conductor for Voices of Our Nation Star Spangled Salute will be Eric Whitacre. An audience, expected to be in the tens of thousands, will attend.
