Solfege books for emerging 7th and 8th grade music students

I just took over a position teaching 7th and 8th grade general music. The school is very low funded and we have no instruments music or books. My focus is now on turning this program around and I want to start with solfege. Getting the students singing and reading rhythms. Any suggestions on good solfege books for the classroom. Ideally I would like to use this book as a bridge into concepts such as rhythm, composers, and other musical concepts. I would love a book where my students could work on duets and partner works. Please help!

Check (online) Masterworks Press for a selection of low cost reproduceable sight-reading materials. They have melodic sightsinging books and part-singing exercises as well, graded from easy to more challenging.
