DMA in Choral Conducting

Hello Fellow music makers,
I am interested in knowing woiuld anyone be able to help me find a DMA in choral conducting program with a STRONG secondary/urban education minor. Not just the reading/research element, but the actual connection with urban High Schools where DMA students can work with actual high schools choral programs.
Thank you most much!!

You will want to couple your program with a strong Music Ed program that allows for this opportunity.  Consider the Univ of Washington where Pat Sheehan Campbell is located.  You could even contact her via e-mail and express to her your desire on this matter.  USC in Los Angeles may be another possibility, but again, you are going to have to couple a program with the Music Ed department.  USC is located very near Watts section of Los Angeles.  The head of the DMA program in Choral Music at USC  is our current president of ACDA, Jo-Michael Scheibe.  He may be able to give you advice on this matter as well.
