Hello, glad to meet you, my name is Monika Fahrnberger, I was born in 1963 and have three younger brothers named Michael, Markus and Martin.

I live in Austria, in the city of Vienna, as do my siblings and parents. I work for the Vienna University in the Department of English and American Studies, Researchgroup North-American Studies.

My main interests are in:

choral music

theology

languages

travelling

caves

mushrooms

knitting and

cats (and, recently, dogs as well, especially Siberian huskies...)

I am a member of a bi-national vocal ensemble named Vokalensemble 'Mosaik' and do all the organizational work for that group. Being interested in international cooperation, I contribute my share to the choral network by doing translation work for the International Choral Bulletin of the International Federation for Choral Music, and I am a Board Member of ChoralNet, Inc., the Internet Center for Choral Music. I organize a Multinational Chamber Choir in Austria under the musical direction of my old friend Hermann Platzer about every other summer (was annual from 1992-2001). the next meeting of this event is scheduled for August 2006, full information is here. This musical encounter is a chance for people from all over the world to meet in one of the loveliest places of my home-country and study vocal music in a very intense way together at the same time!
