"Early Music Days Vienna" (EMDVs)
Musical Direction: MMag. Manfred Novak
The "Early Music Days Vienna" (EMDVs) were founded as one of the two
"musical offshoots" (so far) of the
"Multinational Chamber Choir in Austria", when we found out, that there
were individual members in our multinational groups of singers, who had a
very strong interest (and partly high experience as well) in Early Music,
who wanted to work more intensely in this genre, if possible also singing
one-on-a-part. (For the time being this is the one and only active session of our
musical multinational cooperation, mainly for the fact that money only comes sparsely any more,
and the Early Music work demands more sessions as well.) During the main project there was/is not enough space and
time to consider moving into this direction, that is why we created a "new
trail" in the course of our musical encounters. Obviously, participation in
this newly founded project needs a good deal of musical experience, that
being the reason that we decided not to create an application form of sorts
but work together with singers coming "by invitation" instead. The "inner
group" who meet between two and four times per year in various setups
(depending on the music being studied) in Vienna is therefore known
personally to us from earlier musical common projects and encounters.
