"Early Music Days Vienna" (EMDVs)
Musical Direction: MMag. Manfred Novak

The "Early Music Days Vienna" (EMDVs) were founded as one of the two "musical offshoots" (so far) of the "Multinational Chamber Choir in Austria", when we found out, that there were individual members in our multinational groups of singers, who had a very strong interest (and partly high experience as well) in Early Music, who wanted to work more intensely in this genre, if possible also singing one-on-a-part. (For the time being this is the one and only active session of our musical multinational cooperation, mainly for the fact that money only comes sparsely any more, and the Early Music work demands more sessions as well.) During the main project there was/is not enough space and time to consider moving into this direction, that is why we created a "new trail" in the course of our musical encounters. Obviously, participation in this newly founded project needs a good deal of musical experience, that being the reason that we decided not to create an application form of sorts but work together with singers coming "by invitation" instead. The "inner group" who meet between two and four times per year in various setups (depending on the music being studied) in Vienna is therefore known personally to us from earlier musical common projects and encounters.

Since the start of this new type of multinational musical encounter in January 2000 twelve meetings took place in our city; the next five sessions of this project group are already being planned for with the latter offering a public presentation of selected parts of the repertoire ("Early Music from the German-Speaking Habsburg Courts") achieved in the above mentioned five musical sessions.

In case, however, one or the other visitor of this page would call it a pity that we work "by invitation" as explained above, since s/he should feel that s/he would be a good match for us and our project, I invite you to send me an email message all the same. Maybe we can figure out a way of a possible future cooperation, as we include new members into all our musical project groups from time to time.
