Seeking Choral Scholars in Western MA

Location: South Hadley, Massachusetts, USA
The South Hadley Chorale of South Hadley, MA is pleased to announce openings for all voice parts in our Choral Scholars program. These paid positions are open to any current undergraduate or graduate students in the Pioneer Valley region.

We seek one soprano, one alto, one tenor, and one bass to join our community-based ensemble as Choral Scholars. In that capacity, they would lead occasional sectionals and warm-ups, and sing as fully integrated members of their respective sections. Ideal candidates would be strong choral vocalists with an interest in conducting and/or music education.

The South Hadley Chorale rehearses on Wednesday evenings, 7-9pm, at Center Church in South Hadley, MA. Our season stretches from October through March each year, culminating in a performance of major choral-orchestral works every season. Recent repertoire has included Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Dona nobis pacem by Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Mendelssohn’s Die erste Walpurgisnacht. The major work on this season’s program is Haydn’s The Creation with special guest Alice Parker.

Please contact Music Director Jonathan Harvey (jonathan.w.harvey@gmail.com) to schedule an audition. Auditions will be completed and positions offered before our first rehearsal of the season on October 1, 2014.
