Cerddorion Vocal Ensemble

Cerddorion Vocal Ensemble seeks exceptional singers of all voice parts for its 2014-15 concert season.
Now celebrating our twentieth season, we are a highly selective chamber choir dedicated to adventurous programs that span the breadth of the choral repertoire, from medieval polyphony to newly commissioned works. Each subscription concert is presented both in Brooklyn and in Manhattan. We rehearse on Tuesday evenings at St. Ignatius of Antioch on West End Avenue and 87th Street, where we are also artists-in-residence. Members also commit to one Saturday intensive rehearsal each concert cycle.

- "Models of Inspiration" (November 14 and 16): Beloved works by Orlando di Lasso and J.S. Bach paired with extraordinary pieces inspired by them. Including the world premiere of the Beatles CantataPlease Please Me by Richard Boukas.
- "Time and Again: A Celebration of Cerddorion's 20th Anniversary" (March 5 and 8): A retrospective featuring marvelous works written for Cerddorion over the past twenty years, as well as world premieres by Martha Sullivan, Joseph Prestamo and Christopher Ryan.
- "Rise Up, My Love: Choral Settings of the Song of Songs" (May 31 and June 2): Music spanning five centuries inspired by the abiding, passionate love expressed in these timeless biblical texts. Featuring the winner(s) of Cerddorion's Third Annual Emerging Composers Competition.
