Philadelphia Voices of Pride Seeking Conducting Intern

Philadelphia Voices of Pride (PVOP) is seeking a conducting intern to start in September. PVOP is a self-affirming Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Allied friends (LGBTA) vocal ensemble devoted to enhancing the musical, educational, and cultural life of the Philadelphia area. PVOP rehearses on Tuesday evenings at the William Way Center, located at 1315 Spruce St., from 7:30-10pm. We sing a varied repertoire from classical music to modern pop and world music.
Responsibilities: Assisting in warm-ups and sectionals, preparing and conducting a piece for the concert, attending board meetings (optional), directing rehearsal in the absence of the artistic director, and some small administrative tasks.
Qualifications: Must hold or be in the process of acquiring a college degree in music.
A stipend will be offered commensurate with experience.
The intern will report to Daniel Schwartz, Artistic Director. Daniel holds his Masters Degree in Choral Conducting from Temple University. He currently sings with The Crossing and the Opera Company of Philadelphia Chorus. He serves as middle and upper school choral director at the Friends Select School.
