First Responder Anthem

I posted this question a few years ago (and I even checked my thread in the archive) but I was wondering if anyone has written any new, secular pieces for SAB or SATB that honor firefighters or first responders. Our community has a 9/11 Patriot Day ceremony that honors the first responders lost during the year and I'm looking for new, SECULAR repertoire that is a quick learn for my high school students at the beginning of the year. I've used "Song for the Unsung Hero" and "Who are the Brave" before. Thanks,

Hi Jennifer:
I have the perfect secular anthem - "Written on a Star" by Douglass Wagner.  My choir in Fort Worth, Texas did it for the installation of the 9/11 memorial at American Airlines headquarters and there wasn't a dry eye in the house.  I used the SAB version and the words are beautiful, the melody and accompaniment lush - it is a wonderful piece.  It begins with "There are those in this life who aspire to a purpose far greater than ours, with a calling ever higher and unceasing resolve."  And then the chorus begins with "For their names are written on a star."  Should be view copy at JW Pepper website.
Hope this helps!

"Hymn to the Fallen" by John Williams. There are no words - just ah's. But very moving and very effective.

Hi Jennifer,
My song "Halfway to Heaven (A 9/11 Tribute)" was used by the NYC Fire Department as the soundtrack for its official video memorial to the 343 FDNY members killed on 9/11/01. This video is on my "Hank Fellows USA" page on You Tube. This song is also on the home page of my website, and has been performed hundreds of times across America. I have an excellent SATB arrangement available without charge.
Best wishes,
Hank Fellows

"I Am Only One" (SATB and SSA) by Adolphus Hailstork was composed for the firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11. It is simply & deeply poignant. My choir premiered the treble version in 2005 at Carnegie Hall & Ground Zero. I just heard Paul Caldwell conduct an exquisite performance of the SATB voicing at the ACDA Voices United conference in Fairfax, VA in August.
