Noël: French Christmas
Seattle Pro Musica brings a Gallic flair to the holidays with Christmas motets by 20th-century French masters Francis Poulenc and Pierre Villette. Our program also showcases medieval and Renaissance Christmas music from France along with traditional French carols. Our December concerts often sell out in advance and elicit glowing reviews: "Seattle Pro Musica's annual Christmas concert is a gourmet event for music lovers." (Philippa Kiraly, The SunBreak)

Caritas: Sacred Music by Women
Seattle Pro Musica celebrates International Women's Day with a tribute to great female composers across the centuries. St. Hildegard of Bingen's 12th-century chants are juxtaposed with today's most exciting new composers from North America, Korea and Eastern Europe. SPM's performance shines a special spotlight on composers of the Pacific Northwest, including Melinda Bargreen - capped off by the regional premiere of Karen P. Thomas' Caritas abundant.

Prism: Pärt & MacMillan
We celebrate Arvo Pärt's 80th birthday with a concert of his mystical, minimal music paired with pieces by Scotsman James MacMillan, whose hauntingly beautiful works have been described as "both timeless and contemporary." The striking yet spare sounds of other contemporary composers, including a world premiere by John Muehleisen, rounds out a wonderful program.
