The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir’s annual Choral Conductors’ Symposium brings together five emerging conductors for a week of intense master classes and workshops with internationally-acclaimed conductor Noel Edison, working with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and the Elora Festival Singers. The Symposium concludes with a public concert on February 1, 2014 at 3 pm that will be webcast live from Yorkminster Park Baptist Church in Toronto.
This online concert is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a range of great choral music, including works by Canadian composers Corlis, Raminsh and Willan, and excerpts from classical masterworks: Dona nobis pacem from Bach’s B Minor Mass; Zigeunerlieder by Brahms; The Lord is Great from Haydn’s The Creation; and Hear my prayer, O Lord by Purcell. The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and the Elora Festival Singers will perform under the direction of the five Symposium conductors.
People can watch the webcast live at www.tmchoir.org on February 1 at 3 pm (GMT/UTC -5). Web viewers from across North America and the world can sign in with their email address and then enjoy the concert online: http://www.tmchoir.org/tmcPerformances/webcast-register.cfm. The webcast will be Adobe Flash and iPhone and iPad compatible.
