University of Toronto MacMillan Singers and Women’s Chamber Choir

Frances Farrell and Tracy Wong, Graduate Assistant Conductors

Premiering new works by student composers, Matthew Gaskin and Aiden Hartery (Frances Farrell, conductor) and presenting selections from Gabriel Prokofiev’s “Simple Songs for Modern Life” for female trio (Tracy Wong, conductor).  Mr. Prokofiev is in residence at the Faculty of Music for the duration of the Contemporary Music Festival.
 
Other repertoire includes “Un soir de neige” by Poulenc, “Y’ver, vous n’estes qu’un villain,” by Debussy, and Hindemith’s “L’hiver, ” all sung by MacMillan Singers.  The Women’s Chamber Choir will sing “Snow by Morning” by Shank, “Winter Solstice” by Carey and R. Murray Schafer’s “Snowforms.”
