What joy, what gladness of heart is to be found in the uplifting of voices in song! The Jameson Singers will perform a stunning program of poignant settings on seasonal texts by Britten & Byrd, Mendelssohn & Brahms, Grieg & Thompson, and Foss & Cooman. Traditional carols will be sung with the audience and the a cappella program will evoke the reverence, peace, and joy that is a quintessential part of the holiday experience.
The Jameson Singers brings to this performance their signature, highly expressive and nuanced choral sound. Upon attending The Jameson Singers’ performance of Faure’s Requiem in the spring of 2013, Susan Miron of The Boston Musical Intelligencer, remarked in her review, “Beautifully performed… impeccable intonation and blend… The Jameson Singers sang with passion.”
The Jameson Singers was founded in the fall of 2010 by Jameson Marvin, upon his retirement as Director of Choral Activities at Harvard University (1978-2010).  This 60-voice choir is comprised of amateur singer-musicians, many of who are Dr. Marvin’s former students. Guest conductor Kevin Leong is Associate Conductor of The Jameson Singers and is in his second season as Music Director of the Concord Chorus. He previously served as Associate Conductor of the Harvard-Radcliffe Choruses where he directed the Harvard-Radcliffe Chorus and co-conducted the Harvard Glee Club, the Radcliffe Choral Society, and the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum.
Please join us for a memorable concert of music from the Boston area’s newest choral ensemble, The Jameson Singers
and explore the “Gladness of Heart” that is found in song!
