Pierced Hemisphere

"Pierced Hemisphere" is inspired by Barbara Hepworth's sculpture of the same name, and was commissioned by the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield, UK to be part of their Handling Collection. The recording, score, stones and activities are available for visitors to the gallery to use to enhance their understanding of this particular work.
It is scored for
  • SSA choir;
  • a 4th, much simpler vocal line which could be sung by any single voice type or mixed voices, or even children, perhaps;
  • Flugel horn (on my recording it is played on a cornet!)
  • Stones, marbles, gong - 2 players.
