OHIO UNIVERSITY WOMEN'S CHORALE"HARMONIC, MELODIC, AND DROP DEAD GORGEOUS" The Ohio University Women’s Chorale is an auditioned ensemble that brings together talented students from diverse majors across the university. The main focus of the ensemble is to give women the opportunity to study, develop, and perform choral/vocal repertoire representing a variety of musical styles – music that is not only challenging, but that is also fun! Sharing the dual role of academic class and student organization, the OU Women’s Chorale offers a unique combination of performance experiences and social activities that unite members in a “sisterhood of singing.” Performance repertoire embraces challenging classical works, distinctive folk song settings, Broadway show tunes, and comedic delights. Women’s Chorale performs annually with the Singing Men of Ohio, Choral Union, and the Ohio University Singers vocal ensembles, and often performs with these groups along with the Ohio University Symphony Orchestra on a masterwork each Spring.
